25-30 hours per week) Job Purpose:
The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for assisting with a variety of Human Resource functions, such as benefits administration, recruiting/on-boarding, background screening and document retention.
This position requires an individual who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the agency in a professional and confidential manner, which models our core values of Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy.
Key
Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
Support the recruitment/hiring process by posting internal and external job openings, screen applicants, perform background checks, issue offer letters, etc.
On-Boarding:
Support the on-boarding process by helping new employees complete new-hire paperwork, update employee database, and administer new hire orientation.
This may require occasional driving to our Sparrow's Nest thrift stores (located in McHenry, Cary, Woodstock, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Mundelein and Third Lake).
Benefits Administration:
Assist with all aspects of the agency Medical/Dental/Vision, Life Insurance, and FSA.
This includes annual renewals, open enrollment, employee additions/terminations and withholdings.
Document Retention:
Responsible for maintaining both paper and electronic employee-related records, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Agency Committees:
Participate on the agency Safety Committee and the Employee Engagement Committee and provide support towards accomplishing established committee initiatives.
Other:
Support various human resource related projects and coordinate agency training sessions and employee events.
Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to handle confidential information in the highest ethical and professional manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong ability in using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching are required; Sitting, standing, walking, talking and hearing.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Human Resource Certificate(s) and/or College degree strongly preferred.
3
years in a Human Resource related role strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
